BRIDGE ESTIMATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

A premier structural steel erector has an opening for a Bridge Estimator with talent, initiative and drive to join their team and have a critical role their growing organization. They carry an AISC Certified Bridge erector certification and recently became a member of the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association.

Relocation Assistance for the right candidate.  

ESTIMATING PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specifications
• Determine labor and equipment costs
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
• Understand project logistics (New, repair, and demolition) and project schedule
• Understand all bid documents and assess project risks
• Review quotes and estimates with the project team
• Prepare estimates and different levels of completion ( conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.)
• Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineers

BRIDGE ESTIMATOR QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of Bridge Estimating experience
• Engineering Experience is a bonus
• Advanced computer skills with estimating software (AutoCAD)
• Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles relating to bridges
• Understand aspects of structural steel and misc metal concepts.
