State And Local Tax Manager - Avery Partners

Our Client, a public accounting and consulting firm located in the Atlanta area is looking for an Audit Manager to join their team. This opportunity will be a hybrid setting with 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:

Assist clients in addressing business challenges related to restructuring and the adoption of new tax laws, while effectively communicating local tax developments.

Evaluate clients' state and local tax burdens and recommend solutions that align with their overall business objectives.

Identifying and exploring indirect tax opportunities and issues related to business expansion, systems and controls, refunds and cash flow, as well as policy and design considerations.

• Deliver profitable SALT (State and Local Tax) services to clients.
• Oversee the SALT practice.
• Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds expectations through tax advice and consultation.
• Research and resolve technical state and local tax issues.
• Prepare technical memoranda and other deliverables for clients.
• Manage tax assignments and related projects effectively.

Requirements:

• CPA license
• BS Degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of current or recent experience in public accounting or corporate tax department
• Familiarity with researching state tax laws and regulations
