Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA), is one of the largest networks of cancer care physicians in the United States, meaning our patients have access to innovative therapies, clinical trials, sophisticated diagnostics, second opinions, and so much more.
RCCA has convenient locations in New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and the Washington, D.C., area. At each location, patients can expect personalized attention as oncologists collaborate to formulate the most appropriate course of treatment. Every case is different, and our expert team will determine the best options for any cancer type, from lung cancer and sarcoma to leukemia and lymphoma. RCCA boasts 90+ cancer and blood disorder specialists with extensive experience treating every type of cancer and blood disorder, from common to rare diseases and from solid tumors to blood-based malignancies and benign hematologic conditions.
RCCA is currently seeking a State Controller to partner with practice leadership to help drive strategic initiatives both financial and operational. The State Controller assists in determining financial goals for the various operating units, analyzes and reports variances and maintains general ledger and related systems for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. He/she develops and presents management reports, coordinates and monitors financial budgets, and ensures financial reporting is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Additionally, the Controller is responsible for:
Primary leader to the accounting/finance team
Reports monthly results to key stakeholders in a timely manner with appropriate analysis of key performance indicators and adequate explanation of variances
Presents financials at physician meetings, board meetings, and finance committee meetings
Develops robust reporting packages as requested/needed by management and Physicians
Willfully and accurately investigates all necessary detail and activity to correctly identify the causation of variance in the financial statements
Responsible for the preparation of annual budget
Communicates with key operational, physician and centralized support counterparts
Brings forth recommendations for improvement and efficiency in all aspects of accounting and finance operations
Performs ad hoc and pro forma analyses as needed/requested
Manages all capital requisitions, including proforma and business case development
Ensures adequate documentation, review and execution of internal controls as required by SOX initiates and completes necessary remediation
Provides financial oversight and indirect leadership to revenue cycle business offices for all monthly activity to include, but not limited to: billing, adjustments, refunds, data extraction, reporting, investigation, accounts receivable aging, corrections, and month end close of practice management system
Liaison between US Oncology Network/McKesson and local operations for process implementation and control.
Providing support to department managers, practice administration and physicians in the preparation, understanding and use of financial information and assists the organization toward its goal of improving cost-effectiveness of health care delivery.
Participate in development of practice objectives.
Supervising and mentoring assigned accounting/finance team
Developing systems and monitoring compliance with the various company/practice agreements
Ensuring the practice is compliant with all established accounting and revenue cycle policies/procedures and internal controls
The ideal candidate is an experienced mentor, highly organized, with the ability to be flexible and multi-task. Additionally, he or she will offer:

Position requires:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance (with appropriate experience).
Practice Management/Healthcare experience.
7+ years of progressive Accounting experience with at least three years managing others
Strong foundation in accounting required, but candidates also demonstrating strong analytical/FP&A experience preferred
CPA and or MBA preferred, though not required
Work in-person from the Corporate Office in Teaneck for a total of 4 days per week, initially, to build relationships, prioritize objectives, and establish a team culture. More days of remote work will be acceptable in the future as the State Controller capabilities are demonstrated and team objectives are met.
