POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining adequate nursing staff for the facility. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Assists in recruiting, selection, and training of potential employees and ensures all staffing needs are met
• Coordinates, monitors, and adjusts schedules for the nursing departments as required, including daily, weekly and monthly, also covering vacations and holidays
• Recommends to the Administrator the number and level of personnel to be employed
• Assists in determining nursing staffing levels with the DON and Administrator.
• Assist Human Resources with application review of new potention staff.
• Attends departmental meetings, in-service educational meetings, and on-the-job training
• Assist DON and Administrator with ensuring that appropriate training records are maintained for nursing staff
• Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personnel information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as facility policies and procedures
• Maintains nursing schedules as appropriate
• Stays well-informed of staffing needs as census increases or decreases
• Other related duties as assigned by Administrator/Director of Nursing
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions in certain circumstances
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governmental agencies and the general public
• Must maintain confidentiality of all resident information, be knowledgeable and comply with residents’ rights
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
• Must be knowledgeable of computers, data entry, output, etc.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and/or holidays
• Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Must have, as a minimum (1) year experience in long term care.
• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must meet health assessment requirements
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a PLUS but not required!
Job Type: Full-time
