Job description:
As the Staffing Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the staffing needs of our nursing home. You will coordinate schedules, manage staffing changes, and ensure compliance with state regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong ability to communicate with both staff and management. You will play a vital role in maintaining a positive work environment and ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Staff Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and manage work schedules for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) to always ensure adequate coverage.
• Staffing Needs Analysis: Monitor staffing levels, and proactively adjust schedules to meet resident care demands.
• Recruitment Support: Assist the HR department with recruiting, onboarding, and orientation of new employees.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain compliance with staffing regulations and ensure all staffing documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for staffing inquiries and changes, ensuring all staff are informed of schedule updates promptly.
• Time & Attendance Tracking: Monitor employee attendance and address absenteeism, callouts, and tardiness issues.
• Crisis Management: Act quickly to address any unexpected staffing shortages or emergencies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with nursing supervisors and department heads to assess and address staffing requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Experience:
Minimum of at least 1-2 years of experience in staffing coordination, HR, or scheduling in a healthcare or nursing home setting.
Skills:
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve staffing challenges promptly.
• Familiarity with state and federal staffing regulations for long-term care facilities.
