Visit our PinFlex landing page to learn more. Staff Software Engineer, Core Serving InfrastructureThe Core Serving Infrastructure team is responsible for developing and maintaining large-scale, high-performance recommendation & search backend systems (also known as the mixer layer) at Pinterest as well as the serving framework and infrastructure components these systems are built on.
These systems serve billions of pins and hundreds of millions of users and power Pinterest surfaces such as the Homefeed, Related Pins, Search, Notifications, and moreWhat you’ll do:Creating the technical roadmap for Pinterest's recommendation & search backend systems, aligning with industry advancements and emerging product needs.Designing and building large-scale, high-performance recommendation & search backend systems, continuously enhancing their performance, scalability, and stability.Leading cross-functional collaborations with partner teams to integrate new functionalities, enabling a wide range of product innovations.Simplifying and unifying the serving stack to facilitate faster product iterations.Mentoring and developing the technical and leadership skills of team members.What we’re looking for:8+ years of industry experience2+ years of experience in recommendation / search systems2+ yrs experience as a tech leadBachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or equivalent experienceStrong technical expertise in large-scale distributed systemsExcellent problem-solving skillsEffective cross-team collaborationExperience defining and executing multi-phase technical strategiesStrong mentorship and coaching abilitiesIn-Office Requirement Statement:We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style.
