What you'll do (Design & Development)
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirement

- Design software architectures that meet scalability, maintainability, and reliability standards 

- Coach and mentor other engineers in engineering techniques, processes, and new technologies; enable others to succeed

- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and other stakeholders
- Make recommendations for overall application system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance

- Recommend changes to processes and tools at the group / dept level based on industry standards, patterns, and practices
- Support the build and deployment pipeline and when necessary, both diagnose and solve production support issues
- Identify, scope, and architect solutions for new features while considering technology alternatives and all impacts / tradeoffs
- Work closely with Product, Design, and QA to deliver world-class digital experiences
- Get the opportunity to stay ahead of new technologies with an eye to evaluating and potentially incorporating them into your team's architecture; introduce new technologies that have ROI / influence
- Apply understanding to constantly improve the cloud infrastructure that powers our high-performance, consumer-scale site and mobile apps
- Lead large initiatives within the team, including technical design / delivery of complex features across multiple systems as H-E-B improves the customer and Partner user experiences
- Influence others in technical decision-making / technology adoption within their domain
- Diagnose / troubleshoot extremely complex issues independently
- Develop technical roadmaps and lead engineers across one or more squads to deliver initiatives
- Help grow Digital Engineering by driving execution of organization-wide activities
- Identify ways to improve codebases, solutions to complex problems, and effectively propose paths forward to drive outcomes
- Create documentation and training related to technology stacks and standards
- Operate with minimal direction to drive large-scale initiatives
- Provide end-to-end support to applications

- Lead or participate in meetings or workshops discussing project requirements, specifications, and other aspects of the development process

- Develop and implement internal standards and best practices within your organization, including providing training and support to other team members on how to implement these standards effectively.

- You understand cross-tech stacks and scalability and reliability implications
- You can coordinate work for a group of engineers on major initiatives
- You have expert knowledge of system architecture and design patterns

- You can create a detailed blueprint of the software system that addresses scalability, maintainability, and security concerns

- You can create a design that is modular, reusable, and easy to maintain, ensuring that the design is scalable to handle future growht and is secure to protect against attacks

- You should be knowledgeable about software security best practices toidentify and mitigate potential security risks and vulnerabilitiesin software systems

- You should be experienced in developing and deploying software on cloud platforms

- You have deep knowledge about multiple technologies, including technology used at H-E-B

- You know the compliance requirements of different projects and applications and can ensure that the development process and software produced meet those requirements.
- You have at least 3+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, or comparable experience
- You have a related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
- You have expert knowledge in technologies such as Golang, Java Spring Boot, OR C/C++, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, Model-View-Controller (MVC), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- You have 7+ years of application development experience
