GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Staff Scientist will undertake project development and management at the senior professional level by assuming responsibility for complex research projects related to but not limited to e-cigarette use, and EIOH-BUDS. Provides extensive guidance and mentorship to postdoctoral appointees and professional staff. Reports directly to the PI, Dr. Sangeeta Gajendra.
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Responsible for the conceptualization, study design and data analysis of epidemiological research projects for Dr. Sangeeta Gajendra. Prepares written reports. Responsible for the design, interpretation and final writing of scientific publications. Independently designs, performs, troubleshoots and interprets data emerging from the research study.
+ Maintains standard of reproducibility for the lab, including standardization of data analysis
+ Provides oversight, training and comprehensive guidance to Dental Public Health Residents throughout all stages of their research projects, encompassing project design, development, and execution.
+ Designs and develops research study curriculum for the DPH residency program, taking the program in its current state and replacing or improving parts of courses or entire courses as needed.
+ Advance and carry on collaboration with other researchers; engages in writing, and fosters collaborative efforts. Takes initiative in obtaining extramural peer-reviewed funding.
+ Directs the gathering of research materials, supplies, equipment and experimental apparatus. Coordinates service support: repair of equipment, and requisitioning of supplies and research materials.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**REQUIREMENTS:**
+ PhD in applicable field required
+ 2-5 years relevant postdoctoral training required
+ Knowledge of Dentistry and Dental Public Health preferred

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $50,000 - $100,000 Annually
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
