JOB SUMMARY
The Staff Pharmacist follows established hospital policies and procedures to contribute to optimal patient outcomes through the safe, rational and cost-effective utilization of drugs and resources. He/She provides drug information to medical, nursing, and ancillary staff members. Tasks, duties, and responsibilities involve drug distribution, evaluation of drug therapies and supervision of pharmacy technical staff members. He/She prepares or supervises the preparation of sterile parenteral solutions using aseptic technique, dispenses medications for both hospitalized and outpatients in compliance with state and federal laws governing the practice of Pharmacy, performs computer functions and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
Professional & Technical Skills
Good written and oral communication skills and math ability (including ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations). Ability to operate various types of office equipment, including fax machine, computer, and calculator.

Education
Graduate of Accredited School of Pharmacy
C.
License(s) or Certification(s)
Licensed as Pharmacist by Indiana Board of Pharmacy; recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
D.
Other Skills or Requirements
Must be knowledgeable about optimal medication use in the following age-related patient groups: Neonatal, Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric.

Skilled to Care for Certain Age-Related Patient Groups (incumbents will be skilled in the care of the following patient groups)
