A leading music streaming company looking for a Staff Network Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the Data Center & Cloud Network team, managing the infrastructure and delivering custom audio content to millions of listeners daily. This position offers the opportunity to work on scalable solutions, emphasizing automation, configuration as code, and leveraging open-source tools. The ideal candidate has eight or more years of experience in production network environments.
Staff Network Engineer Pay and Benefits:
- Hourly pay: $50-$60/hr
- Worksite: Leading music streaming company (Remote, Candidates must be located in the United States)
- W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program
- 40 hours/week, 5 Month Assignment
Staff Network Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, operate, and optimize network infrastructure across data centers and cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot network issues ranging from load balancers to switches.
- Drive automation efforts towards a "Configuration as Code" approach.
- Provide expertise to software and systems engineers as necessary.
- Maintain networking aspects of hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Continuously improve standards and practices in collaboration with other engineers.
- Learn and teach skills within the production networking team and cross-functionally.
Staff Network Engineer Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in production network environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with large-scale global network environments.
- Extensive experience with firewall technologies such as Palo Alto and Cisco ASA.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS and GCP.
- Experience with zero-trust security using Aruba ClearPass or Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Proficiency in Google Workplace and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to customer service principles and willingness to take initiative.
- Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
- Deep understanding of IP networking fundamentals and protocols.
- Familiarity with hardware platforms such as Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, F5, Juniper, etc.
- Knowledge of network protocols like BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, DMVPN, IP Multicast, SDWAN.
- Proficiency in L2/L3 switching architecture design and related technologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, Syslog, NetFlow.
- Proficiency in automating network devices using tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
- Ability to take ownership of critical issues and participate in on-call support on a rotational basis.
