Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a subject matter expert in tissue optics for hardware, software, and data collection design throughout the Advanced Imaging portfolio.
• Formulate algorithms based on first principles in light-tissue interaction and assist in implementing these in software.
• Communicate trade-offs for software and hardware designs and architecture based on optical imaging principles and relate these trade-offs to customer requirements.
• Conduct reviews of optical hardware and software designs in collaboration with a cross-functional Advanced Imaging team.
• Design experiments and assist in data collection in a benchtop and preclinical setting.
• Assist the development of benchtop tissue models.REQUIRED:
• BS (in Optical Imaging, Tissue Optics, Optics, Physics, Biology, or a related science/engineering field). and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with optics, optical imaging, photonics, or optoelectronics OR and MS with a minimum of 1 years OR a PhD.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in developing real world optical systems.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience developing optical imaging algorithms and implementing them in Python, C or similar
• Expert in chromophore imaging using hyperspectral imaging
• Expert understanding of the radiative transport equation and ability to represent it using Monte Carlo methods
• Experience in independently formulating mathematical representations of light transport in tissue and optical systems and implementing them in software
• Experience characterizing tissue state and properties using optical imaging in software
• Experience with machine learning for image analysis
• Experience with test protocols, reports, and documentation
• Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, and hypothesis testing
• Comfortable conducting preclinical testing/experiments with large and small animal models
- Good organization and self-management skills. Previous experience managing multiple priorities and cross-functional projects
• Experience working in a pre-clinical setting
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience with C , CUDA or other accelerated computing technology
• Experience in the Medical Device industry or a similar regulated industry
• Experience with design control activities and design history file implementation
Additional Information:
- The anticipated base pay range for this position is $104,000 to $145,000
- Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
- Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
- Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
