Chemours is seeking a Staff Engineer to join our growing Thermal & Specialized Solutions (TSS) Technical Service team! This position will report directly to the Global Technical Services Manager – TSS at our Newark, DE location.
This highly visible, key role will provide direct customer technical service and product support at the tech service labs for Opteon™ Mobile Air Conditioning segment. This critical position will provide direct OEM support to several Global 500 accounts. This role is based in and will primarily serve NA but will have support duties to EMEA as well. Travel requirements approximately 25%.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Develop, validate, and transfer robust process methods for implementation and testing at manufacturing and/or customer sites.
+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, design and prepare laboratory setups in order to resolve ongoing process or customer issues.
+ Managing product quality or quality related systems
+ Knowledge or the desire to learn fluorochemical science and related application technologies.
+ Skills in data analysis; able to analyze data independently, draw statistically based conclusions and determine next steps.
+ Direct interaction with customers, operations, or their staffs to answer questions/solve problems.
+ Ability to learn a variety of industry standards relevant for successful adoption and implementation within the automotive segment.
+ Ability to self-manage time and resources to get results in the quickest and least costly fashion within limits dictated by maintaining safe operations.
+ Ability to keep accurate records of experimental procedures, maintain inventories, and manage technical and product data sheets, etc.; protect proprietary information and intellectual property.
The following is _required_ for this role:
+ Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
+ 3+ years of work experience in a technical field
+ Strong understanding or experience in refrigeration requirements, design, or chemistry
+ Experience managing product quality or quality related systems and/or working directly with operations, customers and/or distribution.
+ Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
The following is _preferred_ for this role:
+ Advanced technical degree in science/engineering
+ Demonstrated experience with fluorochemical handling preferred.
+ Demonstrated experience with SAE/ASHRAE/ISO standards and committees.
+ Experience in the automotive supply chain.
