Successful candidates will have a chance to support research in areas of:
Electromechanical systems, less-than-lethal systems, human injury, acoustics, chemical/biological defense, specialized materials development, thermal protection systems, blast effects, ballistic penetration/fragmentation, or test planning and statistical analysis
What you’ll do as a Staff Embedded Electrical Engineer:
+ Analyze project requirements and design hardware and software solutions to meet them
+ Work with electrical engineering staff to design, fabricate, and test systems requiring embedded software.
+ Develop embedded software for the fabricated systems.
+ Test and troubleshoot embedded systems to ensure compliance with system requirements.
+ Troubleshoot electrical systems and help debug prototype printed circuit boards
+ You will work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
+ Assist in estimating labor and materials required to complete assigned tasks.
+ Prepare oral and written reports as necessary.
+ Travel or extended work hours may be required.
Position Requirements
+ Requires BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
+ Skilled in embedded C and object-oriented (python, C++, etc.) coding languages or similar
+ Industry experience with embedded Linux or RTOS running on microcontrollers
+ Experience with lab equipment - Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Operational Amplifiers
+ Innovative, can-do mindset bringing new ideas to the table
+ US Citizen; able to get a security clearance
Additional Skill Preferences
+ Good verbal communications skills.
+ Must provide positive influence to technical project teams.
+ Experience troubleshooting digital systems with logic analyzers or equivalent.
+ Experience programming popular microcontrollers like Atmel, Microchip, or similar
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics / layout drawings.
+ Ability to create simple circuit schematics.
+ Familiarity with Altium or similar for printed circuit board layout.
+ Familiarity with MS Office environment (Outlook, Excel, MS Word)
