Chelsea Jewish Lifecare in Peabody, MA is a residential and post-acute care provider that consistently delivers high-quality, compassionate care while focusing on the development of innovative programs and services that enable individuals to live as independently as possible. We are seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing / Staff Development Coordinator to join our team at our Brudnick Center for Living.
Position Summary: The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day functions of the department to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. In addition, this position is responsible for assessing the educational needs of our staff, participating in new hire orientation and managing the annual in-service training program.
Duties:
- Assist in determining staffing needs; screen, interview and orient new employees.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing as necessary concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
- Assist in developing methods and systems for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to insure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
- Ensure that the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained and improved continually.
- Coordinate all mandatory employee in-services.
- Develop, manage, and evaluate department policies and procedures in accordance with current rules and regulations.
- Participate in annual surveys.
- Maintain regulatory compliance in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Work in partnership with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality, person-centered care.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN licensure by the Massachusetts state board required.
- Three to Five years of progressively responsible Nursing management roles.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills within an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent skills in clinical assessment and management.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of electronic medical records, medication administration and scheduling systems.
- Sensitivity to customer service needs.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
