Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
2. Participating in regular tax audits and payroll.
3. Preparing budgeting reports and forecasting revenue.
4. Enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with GAAP.
5. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
6. Analyzing financial data and create financial models for decision support.
7. Coordinating with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
8. Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
9. Developing and documenting business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Managing the full cycle of accounting activities for the company.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant role should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a staff accountant role.
3. Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations.
4. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.).
5. Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
6. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.
7. Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors.
8. Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
9. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.
10. Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
