Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional services firm environment and possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Conduct variance analysis and identify trends or discrepancies in financial data.
Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide support as needed.
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during the audit process.
Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.
Minimum of 3 of experience in accounting, preferably in a professional services firm environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience working with billing and time-tracking systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) is a plus.
