This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of three days each week with two of the mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.?
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, FP&A, Accounting Systems, the Staff Accountant will perform accounting procedures in support of the preparation and maintenance of financial records and other related activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Client Account Services

Provide bookkeeping and accounting services to clients, including managing accounts payable and receivable

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

Assist in financial reviews and audits

Collaborate with project managers and/or Officers to track financial performance

Reconcile monthly bank accounts and assigned balance sheet accounts.

Enter transactional data into the Accounting System and verify data with supportive accuracy.

Record monthly recurring entries.

Prepare and process journal entries and budget amendments.

Identify and process journal entries resulting from account reconciliations.

Support technical Accounting System issues and tickets.

Manage open tickets to resolution.

Manage expense settlements including event and credit card payments, purchase orders and receivables/payables.

Support monthly close process as needed.

Assist with annual audit preparation and budget activities.

Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS?
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.
-
At least three years of general ledger experience to include knowledge in accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Tax experience preferred.

Strong analytical, time management and communication skills.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-
Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required.

Strong MS Excel skills required.
-
Experience in Business Central, Cvent, and Concur a plus.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this is $65,000 - $80,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of the base salary.
