Staff Accountant - Addison Group

Role: Staff Accountant

Hiring Type: Contract to Hire

Location: Washington, DC

Pay: $28-30

Conversion Salary: 60-70k

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit accounting
• Experience with accounting software (NetSuite is a plus)
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Description:

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Participate in audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with nonprofit accounting guidelines
• Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and financial planning
