Staff Accountant - Latitude, Inc.

This position is looking for someone who is able to work fully onsite in Upper Marlboro, MD. This is a full-time direct hire position that is looking to pay between $65k-$78k/yr. This position requires someone that is a US citizen or green card holder and requires someone with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and post AP entries in the accounting system
• Under direction of Accounting Manager, prepare monthly closing journal entries. This includes obtaining data from source systems, reconciliations and following up on reconciling items with internal and external parties.
• Assist with the preparation of loan closing delivery sheets
• Ensure that all intercompany entries are posted timely
• Oversee monthly allocation of expenses by business unit
• Assist in preparing the month-end close supporting binder and various monthly reports for management
• Special projects as required

Experience, Skills and Abilities Required:

• 2 to 4 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar capacity. Public accounting experience is a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• Must have strong work ethics
• Effectively manages multiple assignments
• Proactive in identifying and resolving issues
• Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills
• Must be highly self-motivated pursuing continuous improvement to develop a comprehensive understanding of the business
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Documentation skills, research and resolution skills, and data analysis
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
