About the Job
Property manager staff accountant
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
2-4 years' working experience with cash receipts and accounts payable in commercial property management
Familiar with CAM billing accounting preferred
Understanding of cash vs accrual accounting
Required Skills:
Attention to detail and strong organizational & prioritize workload efficiently & effectively
Good communication skills and the assertiveness and persistence to reach out to colleagues to ask them to approve the invoices in their queue in order to make payments on time
MS Office (word, & excel) Adobe combining files, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
AP software experience
Invoices are received from property managers coded.
Able to work independently, and able to work with extremely high volume of work and lots of copying as well as strong desire to work in a team environment to accomplish business objectives
Ability to adapt and learn new concepts, skills, and technologies to help improve processes
43 entities
Assists with monthly status reports, and monthly closings. Also files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
Basic responsibilities
Property AP
On a weekly basis, reviews invoices scheduled for payment, transactions and special check requests. Prints approved checks, prepares and routes for signature according to check signing authority.
Attaches duplicate copy of checks to original invoices, stamps invoices 'Paid' and files in permanent records.
Weekly check runs, 200+ invoices per week
Tenant AR and cash receipts
Record ACH payments manually in accounting software
300 tenants
