Type: Contract-to-Hire
Comp: $48000 - 65000K Annual
SBCS are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our clients' growing team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounting functions and supporting the financial operations of our company. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget variances
- Assist with annual audits and tax filings
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Support the preparation of financial reports for management and clients
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- CPA certification is preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Quickbooks, NetSuite, etc.)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in a consulting firm is a plus

Responsibilities:
• Perform accounts payable, reconciliations, and other accounting duties as needed
• Reconcile deposits in bank accounts
• Review expenses and track them in the accounting software
• Set up vendor accounts and confirm information provided by vendors
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Respond to emails in a timely manner
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a staff accountant with 3 years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
