About the Job
The Staff Accountant / Treasury Manager will play a key role in managing financial operations, reporting, and treasury functions. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, managing cash flow, and supporting treasury operations. The Staff Accountant/Treasury Manager will have a strong understanding of both accounting principles and treasury management in a healthcare setting, with the ability to collaborate with departments to support the company’s financial goals.
EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
1. Daily cash posting and balancing with month end reconciliation prepared by a predetermined date.
2. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are prepared accurately and timely.
3. Prepare and analyze financial reports.
4. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
5. Preparation of cash flow forecasting budget.
Treasury Management:
1. Oversee cash management for skilled nursing facilities and corporate office, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations.
2. Monitor daily cash positions and manage short-term cash flow needs.
3. Manage relationships with financial institutions, ensuring favorable terms for banking services and lines of credit.
4. Execute cash transfers, payments, and investment activities in alignment with company policies.
5. Ensure proper cash controls and reconciliation processes are in place.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
1. Ensure adherence to accounting standards, healthcare industry regulations, and internal control policies.
2. Assist with audits, working closely with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
3. Financial Systems and Reporting Automation:
4. Assist in the development and maintenance of financial reporting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
5. Support the implementation of new accounting and treasury software or improvements to existing systems.
Special Projects and Ad-Hoc Analysis:
1. Lead or support special projects related to accounting, treasury, and financial reporting.
2. Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management
Required/PreferredEducation & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, including experience in treasury management, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility setting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with healthcare financial regulations (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, billing and reimbursement).
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
