The Role: The Staff Accountant will be a critical team member who will support workstreams to advance key accounting objectives in the areas assigned. This individual will interface heavily with LSP's Regional Accounting Team and other internal teams to ensure integrity within the financial statements and accounting consistency across our partners.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day accounting functions by owning transactional accounting within the assigned accounting area for identified partner companies in support of ensuring a complete, accurate, and timely monthly close process. This includes handling various accounting functions such as:
- Transactional Accounting Management: Oversee daily transactional accounting activities for designated partner companies to ensure accuracy and completeness. This includes:
- Cash Application and Bank Reconciliations: Apply incoming payments to the correct accounts and reconcile bank statements to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Credit Card Reconciliations: Review and reconcile credit card statements, ensuring expenses are properly categorized within the financial system.
- Payroll Entry and Analysis: Enter payroll data into the accounting system, verify payroll expenses, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Fixed Assets Management: Maintain records of fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation. Conduct periodic inventories and reconcile them with accounting records.
- Prepaids and Accruals: Record prepaid expenses accurately and ensure they are expensed over appropriate periods. Monitor and record accruals to reflect liabilities accurately in financial statements.
- Monthly Close Process: Ensure all assigned accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time to support a complete and timely monthly close process. Collaborate with team members to finalize monthly financial statements.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist in preparing financial reports by providing data and insights related to assigned accounting areas. Conduct variance analyses to explain differences between actual and budgeted figures.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems. Propose and implement enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to support business initiatives and provide accurate financial insights. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve accounting-related issues.

Requirements
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance

- Systems aptitude with the following experience preferred but not required: Sage Intacct, UKG, Bill.com and/or ServiceTitan
