About the Role:
Our client, a well-established retail company in the Tampa Bay area, is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join their team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and contributing to the organization's financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and monitor the general ledger for accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate financial data.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting tasks.
- Handle sales tax filings, audits, and compliance-related activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a retail or consumer goods environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems is required.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to meet deadlines.
