As the Staff Accountant, you will:
- Maintain accurate records of daily financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL) entries.
- Prepare journal entries and perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support the Accounting Manager in compiling data for audits and tax filings.
- Process vendor invoices, verify payment approvals, and ensure timely payments.
- Provide assistance with following up on outstanding payments.
- Assist in tracking budget performance and identifying variances.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit-specific regulations and requirements, including grant tracking and fund allocations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
- Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

- Starting at $24.00 - $26.00/hour (depending on prior experience and qualifications)

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and familiarity with nonprofit financial standards is a plus.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
