Red Ball Oxygen Company, Inc. was founded in Shreveport, LA in 1930 and has been under continuous ownership of the Kennedy family since 1969. We have grown to 22 retail locations and 4 cylinder fill plants across four states serving a large and diverse customer base in all aspects of welding equipment, industrial gases, and specialty gases.

The Position:

Red Ball currently has an opening for a Staff Accountant in our Shreveport corporate office. The position has the responsibility of assisting the CFO and Controller in fulfilling financial reporting and accounting requirements and establishing and monitoring all accounting policy and procedures. The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable, sales tax reporting, fixed assets, and financial accounting.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation

 Maintain fixed asset schedules

 Capital expenditure budget analysis

 Monthly sales tax return preparation

 Assist in administration of annual audit and income tax return preparation

 Manage month fuel and purchase card reporting

 Manage weekly accounts payable process

 Maintain expense allocations for multiple Red Ball locations

 Annual 1099 preparation

 Monthly reconciliation of accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory

 Monthly bank account reconciliation

Skills:

 Strong analytical and reasoning skills

 Excellent communication skills

 Able to meet critical deadlines

 Provide work direction and supervision to accounting staff

Education/Experience:

 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

 1‐5 years industry or public accounting experience preferred

 Proficiency Microsoft Office

 Experience with Epicor Prophet 21, SAP Concur, or Sage Fixed Assets preferred but not required
