Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description
Responsible for performing daily and monthly accounting tasks, supporting the company's Finance functions. You will need problem-solving skills geared toward finding efficiencies in day-to-day processes around month-end close and account reconciliations. Proven experience working collaboratively on teams, presenting ad hoc analyses to leadership and members of other departments, and being comfortable working in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerBI are essential.
Responsibilities
+ Perform daily and monthly accounting tasks.
+ Support the company's Finance functions.
+ Identify and implement efficiencies in month-end close and account reconciliations.
+ Work collaboratively on teams.
+ Present ad hoc analyses to leadership and other departments.
+ Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerBI for various tasks.
+ Manage general ledger, accounting, cash management, and inventory control.
+ Handle allowances, balance sheets, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
+ Perform journal entries, audits, and financial statement preparations.
+ Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
+ Generate financial reports and perform cost accounting.
+ Conduct ad hoc analyses and use Excel pivot tables for data analysis.

Work Environment
Reports directly to the Accounting Manager, onsite in the Sodo area. The company has a new CEO and CFO, and with new leadership, they are revamping expectations and setting new goals for the team in 2025. The team consists of four members, including a Finance Manager and Senior Accountant. There may be remote training with the same position in Detroit. The position involves working onsite for four days and remotely for one day (either Monday or Friday). The company culture is defined by open collaboration, innovation, and a versatile, jackknife mentality.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.50/hr.
