Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated and diligent Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in the nonprofit industry. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including month-end close, budgeting, billing, financial reporting, and more. You will have the chance to work closely with various departments and contribute to the financial health and success of our company. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform month-end close processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete.
2. Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with various departments.
3. Handle billing processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
4. Prepare comprehensive financial reports on a regular basis for management review.
5. Manage grants, including tracking, reporting, and compliance with grant requirements.
6. Oversee accrued liabilities, ensuring all financial obligations are accurately recorded and met.
7. Monitor and analyze revenue streams, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement.
8. Utilize Deltek and Adaptive Insights software for various accounting tasks.
9. Collaborate with team members and other departments to achieve financial objectives.
10. Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial data.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the engineering or nonprofit sector.
3. Proficiency in Deltek and Adaptive Insights software.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including month-end close, budgeting, billing, financial reporting, grants, accrued liabilities, and revenue management.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity.
