THE POSITION:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the day to day accounting and financial reporting activities delegated by the Business Manager of the companies, making certain all accounting tasks assigned are completed in a timely and accurate fashion.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for financial and accounting accuracy, assisting Business manager through monthly financial statement processing
Review balance sheet accounts with Business manager, identify areas that need attention and past due amounts
Invoice posting and processing as required, funding notices and commission calculations
Enter Journal entries as assigned, including bank transfers, ACH fees and charges from various vendors, various department documents, etc.
Approve various vendor billings for posting, credit card monthly services, etc.
Balance and review monthly Sales Tax and other taxes
Review physical inventories and intercompany accounts as assigned
Back up Purchase and depreciation of Fixed Assets
Enter and balance monthly expenses and Excel sheets, such as Prepaid Expenses, accrual accounts, labor efficiency adjustments, etc.
Assist in filing license renewals, such as Business license, BAR licenses, US Census report as required
Process daily/monthly bank reconciliations for various accounts as assigned.
Assist to ensure that all returns that are assigned ( Sales tax, tire tax, battery tax,) and deadlines are met including government returns
Alert Business Manager and Director of unusual entries or transactions in reviewing various accounts
Open and distribute US Mail
Collaborate and communicate with other office clerks to ensure consistent workflow, compliance and communication
Foster a culture of excellence and teamwork
Ensure cross training of department tasks when asked
Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of company information at all times
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with top level accounting. Including financial statements and fixed assets.
Thorough experience accounting principles.
Knowledge of Federal and State rules, requirements, and regulations.
Basic Payroll experience for commission, salaried, and hourly personnel.
Effective experience with general ledger and financial statements.
Experience with computer systems. Quick Books preferred.
Ability to adapt to changes and work with other departments to achieve goals
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Must have strong communications, customer service, and organizational skills.
Must exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor.
