We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. This is a permanent role that offers an exceptional opportunity to take on a leadership role within a fast-paced and innovative environment. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, preparing financial statements, and managing the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will also have experience in property accounting. Experience in multi-unit real estate/hospitality accounting environment a plus. Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically in Excel (mid-level preferred). Ability to learn new technology quickly. A clear understanding of General Ledger concepts. Ability to work with deadlines and take a creative approach to problem resolution. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
2. Prepare, review, and reconcile account balances and financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
3. Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
4. Conduct thorough financial analysis and prepare detailed reports to present to senior management.
5. Oversee property accounting, including the tracking and valuation of company assets.
6. Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting procedures and improve financial reporting processes.
7. Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
8. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role,
3. Strong knowledge of General Ledger, Account Reconciliation, Financial Statements, and month-end close process.
4. Experience in property accounting is a must.
5. Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
6. Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial colleagues.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
9. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate and prevent potential issues.
10. A commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
