Job Details
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA or CPA Candidate interested in taking on more senior accounting roles
- A minimum of 2 years accounting experience
- Understanding of system integrations and implementations
- Proven ability to drive process efficiencies via automation
- Working knowledge of the general ledger, debits & credits, reconciliations, journal entries and accrual accounting
- Sage 100 experience preferred
- SAP Concur experience preferred
- Strong excel skills required
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Driving Record in accordance with agency Driver Requirements policy
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions: May be required to perform any of the following duties:
- Monitor adherence to policies/procedures, and other finance activities as assigned in the purchase/AP cycle including travel and entertainment
(T&E) expense function.
- Works with internal and external customers to implement ongoing improvements in areas of responsibility. Drives centralized processing of
standard AP and accounting functions’ process improvements and standardization.
- Assist in approving purchases and capital expenditures in accordance with the Company’s signature authorization policy.
- Supervise all AP financial transactions including entering invoices, processing check runs, and maintaining good communications with vendors.
- Ensure proper internal controls such as purchases within the authorization limits.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for journal entries.
- Respond timely to requests for information/reports from management, auditors or other business units.
- Responsible for implementing, documenting, and monitoring the internal controls for the purchase cycle.
- Monitor monthly accounts payable aging schedule, and review and resolve all outstanding entries above 90 days.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Company’s AP/accrual/T&E policies in accordance with US GAAP and Corporate policy.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to the purchase cycle.
- W-9 filings, 1099 reporting.
- Ensure compliance and performance to the Company’s internal controls and ensure accruals are properly stated.
- Responsible for preparing and reporting AP accruals.
- Continuously Improve AP operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards and action
plans; resolving problems; identifying system improvements and ways to automate things.
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of support for external and internal audits.
- Other duties and projects as may be assigned, including processing cash receipts.
