About the Job
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting tasks, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and analyzing financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions for multiple locations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to support management decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with department managers to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Support external auditors during annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws applicable to the healthcare industry.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of efficient accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and administration, to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects, as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., MS Dynamics Great Plains, SAP, NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
