Staff Accountant - Chewy

Chewy seeks detail obsessed, self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Staff Accountants supporting our healthcare accounting team based in our Plantation, Florida headquarters. As a member of the healthcare accounting team, you will get firsthand experience in the many facets of corporate accounting and gain invaluable experiences as we execute and achieve business objectives in this fast-growing and evolving industry.

What You'll Do:

As a staff accountant, you will have the opportunity to take ownership, drive processes and support our business needs as we strive to exceed our customer's expectations at every step. • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files 
• Play a key role in the monthly accounting close; recommend improvements in process 
• Review and analysis of financial statements, business unit P&Ls, and key metrics 
• Prepare & review key account reconciliations 
• Prepare year-end and quarter-end audit schedules; liaise with external auditors 
• Assist internal audit in designing and implementing internal controls over accounting processes 
• Provide accounting support for business units 

What You'll Need:

• BA/BS degree in Accounting
• 0-1+ years of relevant experience
• Strong technical accounting and financial analytical skills 
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel  
• Experience working with GL software, SQL or Tableau are a big plus 
• CPA eligibility preferred
