Reporting To: Financial Controller
Experience: 3-5 years
Role:
Seeking an experienced accountant to oversee general accounting operations, including transaction verification, reconciliations, and month-end closing. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and experience managing or collaborating with a team of Bookkeepers. Accuracy and efficiency are key in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
● Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
● Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
● Analyse financial information and summarize financial status
● Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
● Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
● Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers; Plan, assign, and review staff’s work
● Prepare financial statements; Assist with tax audits and tax returns
● Support month-end and year-end close process
● Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
● Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles
● Liaise with our Financial Controllers to improve financial procedures
Key Skills:
● Proven experience as an accountant
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP)
• Awareness of business trends
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero and QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot table
• Accuracy and attention to detail; Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
Qualification, Experience & Other Requirements:
• Degree in Accounting or Finance
● Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA, CA, CA Inter, M.Com with experience) will be preferred
