Position Overview
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team in Connecticut. This role is essential in supporting the CFO and Controller with various financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of internal and external financial reports. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial records and facilitating project management through advanced software systems.
Responsibilities
- Support the CFO and Controller with day-to-day financial operations and monthly closings.
- Prepare, record, and review entries documenting daily accounting activity.
- Assist in the advancement of Sage (Timberline), TimberScan, and HCSS for project management.
- Manage fixed asset records and related tax filings.
- Collaborate with all accounting functions and staff, including Cash Management, Billing, and Accounts Payable.
- Utilize Excel and Word to complete tasks efficiently.
- Prepare internal and external financial reports.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail while multitasking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
- 3+ years of solid financial reporting experience.
- Previous construction accounting experience is a plus.
- Experience with Sage (Timberline) and report writing is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficient in multitasking while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Required Work Hours
Monday to Friday, first shift.

Additional Details
Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 per year.
