Job Overview: The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the company, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Management:
· Assist with the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
· Process journal entries and perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
· Maintain fixed asset records and related depreciation schedules.
Financial Reporting and Documentation:
· Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
· Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
· Handle monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.
· Manage processing of accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Audit and Compliance:
· Assist with the annual audit process.
· Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
Tax and Payroll Support:
· Assist with tax return preparation.
· Collaborate with the HR department to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
Continuous Improvement:
· Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of the company's financial information.
· Stay updated with industry trends, accounting best practices, and regulatory changes.
Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2+ years of professional accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting procedures.
- STRONG Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
License/Certification:
- CPA (Preferred)
