Salary/Hourly Rate:
$60k – $65k
Position Overview:
We are seeking an entry-level Staff Accountant with 1 – 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience and looking for a fast growth path. This Staff Accountant will be responsible for coordinating general accounting functions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, operating within the General Ledger, and assisting with annual audit preparations. This individual will be responsible for providing full-scale accounting support to include a variety of financial and non-financial tasks on a monthly and annual basis. This position is meant to be a permanent position, with long-term growth, and we are looking to hire immediately.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
- Assists with the monthly accounting close process.
- Prepares monthly balance sheets and income statements.
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts and identifies and resolves reconciling items.
- Performs trend analyses and research variances.
- Enters and processes AP and AR for payments and deposits.
- Creates, improves, and automates financial reporting.
- Assists with internal and/or external audits.
- Assists with maintenance of the general ledger.
- Coordinates with the software vendor to maintain accounting software systems and recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
- Experience with various financial and payroll systems is required.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to analyze and interpret financial data and solve complex accounting problems as required.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment & meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to new systems and processes.
- Proactively identifies & implements process improvements.
- Works well with teams and independently.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
