About the Job
Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant who will be responsible for the recording and reporting of financial data for multiple Companies. The accountant will be exposed to all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and development of internal control policies and procedures.
The accounting professional is essential to making sound business decisions by collecting, tracking, correcting, and communicating the financial position of the company. The accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, analyzing company accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures. A successful candidate will have experience with accounting and financial software, working with general ledger functions, and understanding of current trends.
Your responsibilities (for multiple branches)
- Records daily general ledger entries.
- Records weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
- Code and enter bills daily.
- Publish daily and weekly reports.
- Participate in month-end, quarterly, and year-end closes.
- Reconciles bank accounts.
- Reconciles Balance Sheet accounts.
- Provides year-end tax inputs to CPA firm for tax preparation.
- Corresponds regularly with branch on Project Accounting matters.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- 3+ years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or Controlling
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Priority: Construction Administration, including obtaining releases of lens and purchase orders.
- Priority: Comprehensive knowledge of general financial accounting and job cost/ project accounting.
- Coordinate all aspects of the job costing process for all projects with the Branch. Produce and analyze job performance and profitability through job cost tracking reports. Ensure the financial integrity of project reporting through analysis of weekly and monthly job costs reports. Perform financial analysis of project costs versus budget.
- Knowledge of Change Order processing.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
- Professional-level language proficiency in English
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment.
- Proficient in accounting software required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and interruptions.
- Possess critical thinking skills and have the ability to identify problems, think creatively, analyze situations, solve problems and make decisions.
- CPA or CMA candidate preferred.
