Staff Accountant - SBG Funding

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of our organization by handling a range of accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, commission reconciliation, financial reporting, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records.

- Own the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, transaction verification, statement reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution

- Manage accounts receivable functions, such as invoice generation, payment posting, outstanding balance tracking, and follow-up on late payments

- Accurately calculate and process commissions for payroll within set deadlines

- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure financial record accuracy

- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures

- Contribute to the documentation and monitoring of internal controls

- Support audits by providing necessary information and documentation

- Process ACH transactions

- Identify and implement process improvements and participate in special projects as needed

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the accounting field

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks; experience with Salesforce is a plus

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines consistently
