Staff Accountant - Wood Personnel Services

A Nashville service organization has an opportunity for a Staff Accountant whose primary responsibilities are to maintains financial records, posts transactions, reconciles accounts, and assists in preparing financial statements like balance sheets and income statements. Responsibilities also include processing accounts payable and receivable, supporting month-end and year-end closings, and helping with audits by preparing documentation.

Compensation for the Staff Accountant

• $60-70k depending on experience
• 8: 00am 5: 00pm (Flexible)

Requirements of the Staff Accountant

• Bachelor s in Accounting required
• Open to entry level, new graduates
• Proficiency with automated accounting software
• Knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping terminology and practices
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability, organize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Must be able to work in a team
• Ability to analyze and interpret data

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

• Assist in the Monthly and Annual Closings
• Create, enter, and review entries into the G/L
• Comply with Company accounting policies and procedures following GAAP rules
• Maintain the fixed asset system supporting capitalized assets, disposals, and depreciation entries
• Prepare reconciliations of G/L Accounts each month
• Prepare bank account reconciliations for multiple accounts
• Prepare schedules, and participate in, annual audit
• Prepare and update quarterly reports as defined by management
• Assist other accounting personnel in reconciling accounting issues
• Update and maintain fixed asset ledger using asset software
• Have extensive Excel software experience and computer skills
• Perform account analysis, data analysis and ad hoc reporting
• Participate in special projects as directed by Management
• Identify and assist in implementing accounting improvements
• Work well individually or in a team environment
