Position Overview:
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Accountant to join their team in Margate, Florida. This role requires a professional with a strong background in accounting, preferably within the residential development industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting tasks to ensure the financial accuracy and efficiency of the company's operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage job costing and monthly close processes.
- Assist in the preparation for external audits.
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial statements.
- Manage and track credit card expenses.
- Handle project accounting and provide financial insights to aid in decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting principles and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and guidance
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and account reconciliation.
Requirements:
- Minimum BA in Accounting.
- Must work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Margate, Florida.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within the residential development or related industry.
- Experience in project accounting and job costing, beyond basic bookkeeping or AP/AR tasks - a plus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Work Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break.
