Staff Accountant - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

Position Overview:

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Accountant to join their team in Margate, Florida. This role requires a professional with a strong background in accounting, preferably within the residential development industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting tasks to ensure the financial accuracy and efficiency of the company's operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage job costing and monthly close processes.
• Assist in the preparation for external audits.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial statements.
• Manage and track credit card expenses.
• Handle project accounting and provide financial insights to aid in decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with all accounting principles and company policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and guidance
• Proficiency in financial statement preparation and account reconciliation.

Requirements:

• Minimum BA in Accounting.
• Must work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Margate, Florida.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within the residential development or related industry.
• Experience in project accounting and job costing, beyond basic bookkeeping or AP/AR tasks - a plus
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break.
