About the Job
Job Summary
The overall purpose of this position is to assist management to ensure an unqualified opinion on the respective financial audits. He or She is responsible for assisting in safeguarding the assets of the company through account analysis and regular monitoring of financial transactions. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the financial transactions in assigned general ledger accounts are recorded in the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This role also works with other staff to assist in their understanding of accounting principles and practices in general ledger accounts assigned to the staff accountant.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring proper revenue recognition of enterprise product offerings
Reviewing royalty and commission calculations
Analyzing product usage statistics
Maintaining and monitoring monthly account analysis and reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts and resolving reconciling items and issues noted in a timely manner.
Preparing, reviewing and uploading monthly journal entries for month-end close.
Reviewing, documenting and resolving variances in monthly preliminary Financial Statements prior to distribution.
Assisting with conference accounting and reviewing Geo-Units financials in NetSuite
Preparing various audit schedules as requested.
Creating and maintaining key process flows related to position.
Functioning as interdepartmental liaison in regard to accounting policies and procedures.
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of financial software used for revenue recognition process.
Special projects as assigned.
Serving as informal mentor and resource to Staff Accountants, Intermediate Accountant, Senior Accounting Associate and Intern
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Accounting, Finance or related field is required
Work Experience
4-5 years accounting experience required
Licenses and Certifications
CPA Preferred

He or she must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges. Specific technology knowledge and experience needed to produce the desired outcomes include the following: Microsoft Office (particularly Access & Excel), QuickBooks
He/she must have a strong command of business English. He/she must be able to offer a warm but business-like presence through the spoken word. Fluent interaction with all levels of management
