Staff Accountant - Machine Tool/CNC Technology (34572) at Activ8

An international distributor of manufacturing machinery by the Elk Grove Village, IL area is currently searching for a Staff Accountant to support their accounting department. The ideal candidate will have experience with budgeting, cost accounting and general accounting functions.

This is a full-time and direct hire position with a benefits package including: 401(k) matching, Dental insurance, Disability insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, Paid holidays and Vision insurance. 

Accountant Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded
• Prepare, review, and record financial entries and transactions
• Support Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) functions
• Manage and report on expenses
• Perform account reconciliations and financial analysis
• Support various tax activities including Income, Sales/Use taxes
• Participate in month-end closing activities
• Assist with year-end audit and periodic reviews
• Review and analyze financial statements
• Prepare financial reports and presentations as needed
• Support other accounting functions as assigned by management

Accountant Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication skills

This position includes an office work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 20 pounds, lift in excess of 20 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
