We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of financial activities including month-end close, financial analysis, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, audits, and adjusting journal entries. This position requires a high level of accuracy, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Performing month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
2. Conducting financial analysis on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data to ensure accuracy and provide actionable insights for decision making.
3. Performing daily bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
4. Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring it accurately reflects the company's financial transactions.
5. Coordinating and conducting internal and external audits, providing necessary financial data, and implementing suggested changes.
6. Preparing and adjusting journal entries, ensuring accurate representation of the company's financial position.
7. Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial reporting, and assist with strategic planning.
8. Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and keeping up-to-date with new financial laws.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in month-end close, financial analysis, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, audits, and adjusting journal entries.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
5. Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to make sound financial decisions.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
8. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
