Staff Accountant - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

About the Job
Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably within the banking or financial services industry. Key Responsibilities
General Accounting:
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, including financial statement preparation.
Account Reconciliations:
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of cash, bank, and investment accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports for management.
- Support the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reporting.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Support:
- Oversee processing and recording of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing to clients and resolve any discrepancies.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Support the implementation of new systems or processes as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- At least 1 year of accounting experience, with a preference for experience in banking or financial services.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic regulatory requirements for financial institutions.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
