Staff Accountant - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably within the banking or financial services industry. Key Responsibilities

• General Accounting:

  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, including financial statement preparation.

• Account Reconciliations:

  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of cash, bank, and investment accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports for management.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reporting.

• Accounts Payable and Receivable Support:

  • Oversee processing and recording of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing to clients and resolve any discrepancies.

• Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of new systems or processes as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience, with a preference for experience in banking or financial services.

Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP and basic regulatory requirements for financial institutions.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
