Staff Accountant - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This individual will play a key role in supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, as well as ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with established procedures and deadlines
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and account reconciliations
• Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable accounts
• Analyze financial data and assist with variance analysis and budgeting activities
• Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support audit inquiries as needed
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and files
• Assist with the implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
• Provide support to the finance team on ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related role
• CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including familiarity with GAAP
