We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Staff Accountant to join our vibrant team. This role is an excellent opportunity for those who thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment and have a passion for accounting and finance. The chosen candidate will be responsible for providing a wide range of accounting services to our clients, from preparing journal entries to managing general ledger (GL) accounts. This role requires an individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
2. Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
3. Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
4. Summarize financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
5. Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
6. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
7. Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
8. Provide consultancy and advice to clients on their financial strategies, taking into account the financial climate, changes in the market and the future outlook of their specific industry.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record in managing journal entries and GL.
3. Strong understanding of accounting theory and accounting experience with a medium to large-sized company.
4. Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes, detail-oriented, organized and efficient.
5. Excellent computer skills, proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software such as QuickBooks.
6. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
8. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
9. Ability to work independently, with little supervision, and feel comfortable within a team environment.
10. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
