Overview
The Staff Accountant (Tax) plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accurate financial reporting within the organization. This position is essential for maintaining financial integrity and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations
Assist in tax planning and research of tax laws and regulations
Support the preparation of tax provisions and assist with tax audits
Conduct thorough analysis of tax issues and provide recommendations
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
Utilize accounting software to maintain and organize tax records
Assist in the implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities
Stay updated on tax law changes and communicate potential impacts to stakeholders
Participate in financial statement preparation and review for tax implications
Contribute to the development of tax-related policies and procedures
Assist in responding to tax inquiries and requests for information from tax authorities
Provide support in the preparation of tax-related documentation and disclosures
Assist in financial analysis and reporting as needed
Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting as required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA license or progress towards CPA certification
2+ years of experience in tax accounting or related field
Thorough understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Familiarity with financial reporting processes and standards
Knowledge of tax planning strategies and techniques
Ability to adapt to changes in tax laws and regulations
Strong organizational skills and time management abilities
Experience with tax provisions and tax audits is a plus
