Job Details
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll work closely with both the Accounting Manager and Controller, handling various day-to-day and monthly accounting responsibilities. This is a hybrid role, giving you flexibility while maintaining a collaborative team environment.
Your key duties will include helping with the preparation and review of the annual budget, creating and managing both standard and ad-hoc reports using our Budgeting and Reporting system, and overseeing Fixed Assets, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and tax reporting. You’ll also handle regular ledger maintenance and assist in evaluating the firm's cash flow needs by analyzing the line of credit.
Additional tasks include submitting quarterly Commercial Rent Tax returns, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and handling both Month-End and Year-End closings. You’ll maintain leasing schedules, oversee Sales and Use Tax records, and assist with various credit card programs. You’ll also manage outstanding invoices and work on ad hoc projects as needed.
To thrive in this role, you should have at least 2 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a Staff Accountant role. Previous experience in a law firm is beneficial. You’ll need a sharp attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and be comfortable working independently as well as with a team. Strong technical skills, particularly with accounting systems and Excel, are essential, and a high level of integrity and responsibility is a must.
