We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic financial team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, and be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.
Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
2. Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
3. Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
4. Ensuring compliance with all internal controls and established policies/procedures in accordance with SOX.
5. Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
6. Maintaining confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive financial information.
7. Assisting with special projects as needed, such as system upgrades and implementations.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the finance industry.
3. Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance.
4. Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
5. Experience with general ledger functions, including account reconciliation and journal entries.
6. Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
9. Experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
